And I couldn't have asked for a better day. Tom ran in a road race this morning. He's done a few 5Ks recently, but today's race was just one mile. And he did great! His time was well below the goal he had set for himself, so I was really excited for him. Then right after the race was a local parade. Because we had been on the parade route early for the race, we found a nice, shady spot to sit in. So even though it was hot, it was really pleasant in the shade. The kids had a blast watching the parade. They really are at such good ages for that sort of thing. At 5 and 2 they're past the stage of being overly squirmy in such situations, and yet they're little enough that the whole thing was just absolutely thrilling for them. Not to mention all the candy. Oh, the candy and the excitement of chasing it down as it was tossed to the crowd.
Then this evening we went out for a beginning-of-the-month, pre-baby grocery extravaganza. In other words, we did some pretty intense stocking up. So now I'm feeling really ready for this baby to arrive. Food, check. Fun outing, check. Just a week to go.
And this picture of the kids? Just for fun!
